My colleague was just scrolling through Facebook the other day, and it hit me—shopping has become so effortless on social media

From fashion finds on Instagram to must-have gadgets on TikTok and deals on Facebook Marketplace, we’re now buying directly from these platforms. It’s more than just seeing an ad – we’re interacting with brands, discovering new products, and making purchases without even leaving the app.

This is the era of social commerce, and it's growing fast!
 
On Instagram, over 70% of users discover products they’re ready to buy, with Shoppable Posts making checkout as easy as a tap.

Facebook continues to dominate with its diverse audience, especially among 25-44 year-olds. In fact, Facebook has 2.96 billion monthly active users, which makes it bigger than Instagram. 

And let’s not forget TikTok, where 33% of users are inspired to buy after seeing a product in their feed. TikTok’s viral content and live shopping events are creating entirely new opportunities for brands to reach young, highly engaged audiences.

But what does this mean for retailers? These platforms are giving brands the ability to connect with targeted, highly engaged customers in a way traditional retail can’t match. With seamless in-app purchases, shoppable videos, and influencer-driven sales, businesses are turning social media likes into real-world sales.
